Privacy policy

1. Introduction and controller

This privacy policy informs you about the type, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data (hereinafter “data”) within our online offering and the associated websites, functions and content.

Controller within the meaning of the GDPR:
MAKU Meat Tec GmbH & Co. KG
Leinenbrink 10, 33824 Werther (Westf.), Germany
Email: info@maku-meattec.de
Phone: +49 521 999 891 20
Managing Director: Manuel Sañudo Muñoz

2. Principles of data processing

We process users’ personal data only in compliance with the applicable data protection provisions (in particular the GDPR). This means that data is only processed where there is a legal permission or a consent.

3. Provision of the website (hosting & logfiles)

This website is hosted and delivered by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). When the pages are accessed, the server automatically collects data (so-called server logfiles) transmitted by your browser:

  • name of the requested page/file, date and time of access;
  • volume of data transferred and notification of successful access;
  • browser type and version and the user’s operating system;
  • referrer URL (the previously visited page);
  • IP address and the requesting provider.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our online offering). As Vercel Inc. may also process data in the USA, an adequate level of protection is ensured via EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The email and domain infrastructure (mailbox info@maku-meattec.de) is operated by IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany).

4. Cookies

This website does not use cookies. We do not store information on your device and do not access information stored on it that would require consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG (the German implementation of the ePrivacy Directive). In particular, no statistics, tracking or marketing cookies are used, and no cross-device user profiles are created.

For this reason the site does not need a cookie or consent banner. Should we add consent-requiring services in the future, we will ask for your consent beforehand and update this policy accordingly.

5. Contact & forms (sending via Resend)

Via the enquiry form on our contact page we process the details you enter: name, company, country, email address, phone number (optional), the machine you are interested in (optional) and your message. In addition, the form language, the page the enquiry was sent from and the time of receipt are transmitted so that we can classify your enquiry correctly. We process the same data when you contact us by email or telephone.

The purpose is to handle your enquiry and answer any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent via the checkbox in the form), which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

For the technical delivery of form notifications by email we use the service Resend (Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). The data you enter is processed and delivered to our mailbox; you also receive an acknowledgement of receipt at the address you provided. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with the provider; the transfer to the USA is covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

To protect against automated submissions (spam) we check a form field that is invisible to you, the time elapsed between loading and submitting the form, and we limit the number of submissions per IP address. Your browsing behaviour is not analysed. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning contact channel that is protected against abuse).

Retention: we keep enquiries for as long as necessary to handle them and to answer possible follow-up questions. If the enquiry leads to a contract, the German commercial and tax retention periods apply (generally 6 and 10 years, Sections 257 HGB, 147 AO); otherwise we delete the data once the matter is closed.

6. Audience measurement (Vercel Web Analytics)

For audience measurement we use Vercel Web Analytics, a service of our hosting provider Vercel Inc. The service works without cookies and without cross-device recognition. It records the page visited, the referring page, the approximate region of origin, the device type and the browser. From the IP address and browser identifier a daily-rotating hash value is generated on the server so that repeat views within one day are not counted twice; this value is not stored on your device and does not allow you to be identified.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-friendly, anonymous audience measurement to improve our offering). Since no information is stored on or read from your device, Section 25 TDDDG does not apply and no consent is required. You may object to this processing under Art. 21 GDPR (contact details in section 12).

7. Fonts (self-hosted)

The typeface "DM Sans" used on this website is served exclusively from our own server. No connection is made to third-party servers, in particular not to Google Fonts, and your IP address is not transmitted to any third party.

Nor do we embed any other external content in our pages: no map services, no videos, no advertising or analytics scripts, and no resources from third-party content delivery networks. Simply visiting our pages therefore transmits no data to third parties beyond what is described in sections 3 and 6.

8. Links to social networks and map services

On our contact page and in the footer you will find links to our profiles on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, as well as a link that opens our address in Google Maps. These are plain links, not embedded content (no social plugins, no embedded map, no embedded videos). No data is transmitted to those providers when you visit our pages.

Only when you actively click such a link do you reach the provider's site. From that point on, the respective provider is the controller for the processing and its own privacy policy applies. We have no influence over that processing.

9. International data transfers (LATAM)

As MAKU Meat Tec operates internationally (focus on Latin America), data may be transmitted, in the context of specific projects or support requests, to partners or branches in third countries (e.g. Mexico, Colombia, Chile). This only happens where necessary for the performance of the contract (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR) or where appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

10. Deletion of data

The data we process is deleted or its processing restricted in accordance with Arts. 17 and 18 GDPR as soon as it is no longer necessary for its purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.

11. Rights of data subjects

You have the right:

  • to request information about your processed data (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • to request the rectification of inaccurate data or completion of your data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • to request the deletion of your data stored by us (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • to request the restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • to request data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
  • to object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR);
  • to withdraw a given consent at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR);
  • to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
